A colourful time in Poland

Lovely colours of autumn in October

September and October are lovely for walking. Enjoy the beautiful colours and carpets of scrunchy leaves beneath your feet.

The weather can be mixed, with sunny clear days and also damp and misty days when you definitely need that cosy pullover.

Squirrels in the park are especially active during September and October, cadging as many nuts as they can from visitors then burying them at random.

Poles still think like small time farmers and like to combine a house with something from their rural past.

There are still plenty of women in the centre of town on a Monday or Friday selling home-made cheeses, butter or superfluous eggs from their plot. They then use the money this generates to buy other essentials. This type of home produced food in Poland is cheap, in the UK it would be sold at a farmer's market and command higher prices.
