 Our five bedroom ski chalet is located on the edge of Rabka Zdroj, a small spa town half an hour's drive from Zakopane (pic on left showing the back of the ski chalet).
The chalet is backed by a field - perfect for tobogganing. Several sledges in the house for children and families to use for winter fun.
Zakopane is the big ski resort in southern Poland, although Rabka itself also has ski slopes which are perfect for families with beginners.
There are ski tows, ski lessons(both private and group), and ski hire. Ski hire costs around ten zlotys (equivalent to less than £2 at 2007 rates ) per hour for boots, skis and bindings, or about 30 zlotys for whole day.
Private ski lessons are around five0 zloty per hour or less if part of a group. English speakers are available.
The slopes are a couple of km away from the house so you would either have to use your own car or a taxi. Taxis are relatively cheap in Poland.
