The number of ski destinations is expanding as people look for bargains and better snow conditions elsewhere in Europe and around the world.
Europe is still the best location for ski resorts for Europeans because of the short flight or drive times, especially for short breaks for skiing.
It is possible to ski from January to March in all the following European countries:
Andorra, Austria, France, Switzerland, Italy, Slovenia, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, all Scandinavian countries of Norway, Sweden, Finland, plus a few others.
Long haul flights to Canada or the States necessitate a stay of a week or two which is sometimes more time than people have to spare.
Booking a ski chalet is often the least expensive way of taking the family skiing. Do check the price of flights, airport transfers, distances to ski slope, ski hire etc. before booking. It is possible to obtain some bargain flights if you travel outside school holidays.
