Summer holidays in Poland
Summers are balmy in Poland - sunny and warm with people occasionally complaining that it's more like Africa, but perhaps that's an effect of global warming.
The Polish countryside is mainly forested with farmland in between the few large cities. Small towns and villages are scattered here and there.
Each region of Poland has its own national dress, customs and places to visit.
We feature the south of Poland between Cracow and Zakopane - the hilly and scenic mountainous section in the south.
Cracow, city of Polish Kings is well-preserved with the 2nd largest medieval square in Europe, complete with original cloth hall, wonderful churches and former Jewish quarter of Kazimierz dating back to the mid 14th century.
The ski and hill walking centre of Zakopane attracts visitors all year round. You will never see as many walkers in one place as in Poland, the Poles are avid walkers. |
