Snowy winter weather
- Expect snow from Christmas through to March and sometimes longer. Usually over a metre of snow from mid January.
- There are horse drawn sleigh rides in Rabka, Zakopane and many other towns
- Bring your snow boots and lots of layers for fun in the snow. We have a few sledges in the house for children to use and enjoy.
- The town of Rabka Zdroj offers inexpensive skiing for families with beginners; 3 challenging ski slopes in different parts on the edge of town for medium to advanced skiiers, 4 ski slopes for beginners, a ski school, ski hire, plus toboggan run and outdoor ice skating rink.
Apres Ski
Enjoy the local warm mulled wine, hot Hunter's stew or bigos, potato pancakes or latkes.
Visit the popular highland pub, Siwy Dym in the evenings for some traditional music. It's open until 3 am at weekends if you can then manage to get out of bed the following day to ski again.

Day trips
Take a drive to Zakopane for a taste of a large skiing resort and huge choice of restaurants and bars. Take a bus up to Morskie Oko (the sea's eye) - an amazingly coloured deep lake at the top of the mountains.
Cracow is always welcome for pubs, clubs and shopping. Christmas market from early December until early January.
Take a walk along the Dunajec river for stunning views of frozen water sculptures.
